Mr Ng Kim Tean

Mr Ng Kim Tean is the Executive Chairman of Nanyang Law LLC, a member of Nanyang Asia Network with offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.

Mr Ng’s area of expertise includes intellectual property law; his many years of hands-on experience have exposed him to all aspects of intellectual property in Singapore and various foreign countries.  His other primary areas of practice are equity capital markets, fund management, corporate restructurings, commercial and company laws. 

Some of his significant transactions include representing clients acting for an American client in a patent infringement action involving packaging device; acting for the applicant in unlawful registration of a trademark by a third party; and claim for breach of employee’s fiduciary duties and restraint from disclosing confidential information.

Mr Ng is a prolific speaker and he also regularly authors publications and books. He was a 4-term independent director of a public-listed company. He was a part-time lecturer at both NTU and SMU; and was a member of the Examination Committee for Patent Agents. Mr Ng is also a Fellow of the Intellectual Property Technology Consultant Registry.

Mr Ng, an engineer-turned-lawyer, holds a B.Eng. (Elect), NUS and a LL.B. (Hons), London. He is also qualified as a UK Barrister, a Singapore practicing lawyer and a Registered Patent Agent.
