Meet Ella, the robot barista conceptualised to consistently brew high quality coffee 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

She works four times faster than a human barista and can prepare up to 200 cups of coffee an hour using Buscaglione coffee beans ground-to-order from Rome, Italy with fresh barista quality milk and milk alternatives.

Ella is disrupting the traditional F&B model through innovation, creativity, and clever use of technology; the unmanned retail solution is the confluence of robotics, IoT and data analytics. Ella’s data-fuelled experience enables an intuitive and customised user journey, allowing customers to order ahead and remotely make payment through the Ella App – a proprietary software developed in house.

Finally, she takes up a small footprint of less than six square metres which can help save up to 70% of operating costs as compared to a regular café or coffee outlet.

Ella is the inaugural unmanned retail solution conceptualised and produced by Crown Digital Pte Ltd, full stack tech start-up addressing problems faced in the F&B industry. Founded in 2018 by Keith Tan, Crown Digital’s invention of Ella, The Robot Barista propelled to international recognition, with features in the NRF2020 in the USA and GITEX 2020 in the Middle East. In December 2020, Crown Digital secured a major strategic cross-border investment with East Japan Railway Company (JRE).

Crown Digital’s IP journey started in September 2018 when they first trademarked Crown Coffee Robotic Cafe. By 2021, they secured a patent in China for its invention Ella and are currently on track to getting it patented in Singapore, Japan, USA, Korea, China, and Europe.
