In response to feedback received from stakeholders, the Registrar has issued Registries Practice Direction No. 2 [PDF, 275 KB] of 2024 (the “PD”) to supersede Registries Practice Direction No. 1 of 2024 [PDF, 269 KB]. The PD specifies that the period of 1 to 13 May 2024 (both dates inclusive) are excluded days for all business under the IP Acts and Rules, except for the business listed in Section A, paragraph 6 of the PD. It further specifies that 14 to 16 May 2024 (both dates inclusive) are excluded days for all business under the IP Acts and Rules, where the time for doing the business expires on any of these dates and where the business was not done by the date upon which the time for such business expires.
The additional period of excluded days from 14 to 16 May 2024 will allow users to progressively carry out transactions on IPOS Digital Hub and IPOS Go mobile app following the resumption of these services on 14 May 2024.
The PD and the accompanying circulars for the respective IP will detail the effects of excluded days on the expiry of time periods and date of filing.
